Bloom (formerly Spark)
Be in the moment
We share brief moments of romance with those around us all the time, yet we’re forever hesitant in approaching them. Start being in the moment with Spark.
By not limiting ourselves to a computer screen, where profiles are laboriously filled out and couples artificially matched, we looked to our phones that offer amazingly more intimate experiences, available to us at any time we choose.
Then, rather than limiting ourselves to the standard generic mobile application, where people carelessly swipe through photos of others, we went further and imagined how our phones could connect us with those that pass us by every day. We share moments with people all the time; on the tube, on the street and into the distance where we stand no chance of ever meeting again.
For these moments, we created Spark.
A completely new way to meet people around us. Every day we see people that catch our eye and spark our interest, and in that second we form a vivid picture of them, who they could be to us, how we might get on, what they’re interested in. And it’s so much more than an image, this is a real person who we all-too-often fail to speak to. Maybe it’s our digital age, maybe it’s the curse of a city, but we want to change that, we want to get people speaking again.
Using Bluetooth, Spark works offline to find those around you, making it ready and available in places with limited connectivity, such as the London Underground. What’s more, you can send just 1 free Spark a day, which makes receiving a Spark that extra bit special.
Old fashioned dating services will forever claim that matchmaking and complicated algorithms can predict the chance of love. At Spark, we disagree. It’s been found that it takes just 8.2 seconds for you to ‘fall’ for someone, and we believe that highlights that the only reliable barometer when it comes to meeting someone new are your heart. Instead of getting in the way of two people, we have created a service using both cutting-edge technology and beautiful design to bring people together on their own terms, in real life.
